One of the best discoveries of this fall is Jeff really enjoys biking. When I met him in college he used a bike to get around, but I never really thought of it since. Shortly before his birthday he remarked to me that he would love to have a bike again. As it turns out Jeff's old college bike was still at Gabe's house, so Gabe fixed it up for him as a birthday gift.
All fall, whenever Jeff was home, instead of driving the boys to their soccer practices and games he would bike with them. He often went on a longer bike ride on the bike path near the soccer fields with one of the boys who was not practicing that night. It ended up being a lot of fun and really great exercise, not to mention it really made use of the more compact, bike friendly neighborhood we live in.
