Another three states behind us ... Colorado, Utah and Nevada. Are now crossing the Sierra Nevada... Views are breathtaking. Even Butestands at the window and says "ohhh!"
We've settled into our routine on the train. Jeff and I both saw it has God's handiwork (or very astute planning by Amtrak) that we are by the front bulkhead and the row directly behind us is occupied by some very friendly but DEAF people who smile and nod at our kids but are mercifully shielded from the constant stream of noise we create.
Amazingly enough everyone is sleeping pretty well . The only disturbing incident involved Bute3 getting himself locked into a bathroom and alarming nearby passengers with his terrified screaming before I could rescue him!
