He struck the first batter out, and then got the next to groundout. But then the trouble began. Winston, the pitcher, walked first one then two, the three batters, leaving the bases loaded, two outs, and us winning with a narrow one run lead! Then Winston got three balls and two strikes. This meant that if Winston pitched a ball, that we would be tied. If he pitched a strike, the game would bec over and we would be the winners! The pitch came in right over the plate, the batter swung, the bat connected with the ball, the ball rolled to Winston, he picks up the ball but it falls out of his hand, he picks it up again and throws it to first base! It is a good throw and a good catch! We win! Yahoo! We needed every single run and every single out and every single hit we got to win. During the game I played catcher in the first, third and sixth(last) innings. In the second, i played shortstop, in the fourth, i played centerfield and threw someone out at home from center field. In the fifth inning I played first base. It was a very fun win.
Additional commentary by proud parent : Bute1 seems to really shine in the position of catcher - he is very alert to what is going on in the game and agressively chases runners back to third who might think about stealing home! His coach referred to him as a "stone wall" at the plate.
