Well we are off on our great western adventure culminating in my brothers wedding in Seattle next weekend. Actually as far as the kids are concerned the fun started last night. My brother was visiting after finishing his medical board exam and the boys were allowed to stay up late and await his arrival! While we were waiting we caught fireflies in the backyard. Being on the western edge of the timezone it stays light until almost 10 pm here, so they are not usually outside late enough for fireflies. It was a warm magical summer evening on the eve of our big adventure!
Jeff has some meetings on Chicago and the children and I are looking forward to exploring the city (I have never been here before). We had an uneventful day in the car and arrived here in time for some authentic Chicago - style pizza (yum!) and a swim. Unfortunately Bute6 got just enough sleep in the car to still be wide awake and chattering!
