Loose ends

We set out to finish up a few loose ends in Boston before heading out to Cape Cod. We returned to the Battle Trail between Lexington and Concord so they boys could practice drilling with the local militia and walk across the North Bridge, site of the first British casualties. I must say I was quite impressed with most of the National Park programs in which we have participated on this trip. They really have made the history come alive!

Then Jeff took the kids back to the Bunker Hill Monument where they climbed all 247 steps for the view of Boston. I was busy picking up a few groceries for our beach house.

Then we picked up Jeff's mom and headed for the Cape (after a few wrong turns). In the Midwest our roads meet at right angles and you can tell which way a sign is pointing. Not only do the roads around here share the same few names, but all the signs seems to point at screwy angles, making it hard to figure out which direction you are supposed to be going.
